The touching stories of our scholars was the motivation behind the foundation's desire to support and sponsor these young ladies. Through the efforts of the foundation, we hope to see their dreams come through and create a better future for them and other young girls.

Hamdia Sachibu

Our future Doctor

Hamdia Sachibu is from a big family, a very intelligent girl who aspires to be a Medical Doctor in future. This straight A’s student from Yagbonwura TIMU 1 Girls Junior High School lives with her grandparents who are too old to engage in any form of employment to take care of her growing educational needs. For Hamdia and her family, this scholarship award has been a life saver and the family has been given hope for the future.

Mariama Agongo

She dreams Hospitality

Prior to applying for the scholarship with Aduhene Foundation, Mariama had been home for about 4 years after graduating from Senior High School because her parents could not afford to pay for her university education. The scholarship award from Aduhene Foundation is making her dream of being enrolled at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology a reality. She is studying Tourism and Hotel Management; such a smart young lady who is doing very well so far.

Ophelia Asobila

She wants to be a Nurse

Ophelia Asobila comes from a family of 8; i.e., her parents and 5 other siblings. Both parents are farmers with very little money to support the entire family. As a matter of fact, the only food they tend to eat because that is what the parents can afford to provide is Tuo Zaafi, which happens to be her favourite meal by default. According to Ophelia, she applied for the scholarship because her parents are unable to buy her books and other school supplies and also struggle with her school fees. She would like to be a Nurse in future so that she could earn a good income to take care of her family members.

Ruhaina Jamal

Ambitious

Ruhaina is a Junior Secondary School student at Yagbonwura TIMU 1 Girls whose parents work as a driver and trader respectively. To make ends meet, both parents have travelled to seek greener pastures outside Salaga and so she is under the care of her grandmother who is too old to do any job. She is an intelligent and determined young lady with very bold dreams for her future, and having been awarded an Aduhene Scholarship has considerably reduced a family burden according to her aged grandmother.

Join the Foundation

Aduhene Foundation has a sole focus on identifying brilliant but needy girls from vulnerable communities in the Northern part of Ghana.
Like Dr. Kwegyir Aggrey said, “The surest way to keep people down is to educate the men and neglect the women. If you educate a man you simply educate an individual, but if you educate a woman, you educate a whole nation”.
Support Aduhene Foundation's goals by educating the girl child.
